Explain how state sales taxes support the economy and benefit the common good.

This subject is very debatable, since the Libertarians would say that no tax is good at all. A person in favor of them, on the other hand, would most likely say that sales taxes would give government more money to use, hence more power for them to provide what society needs. Since your taxes go to the State's Revenue, the State can use it to build or maintain roads, to pay public employees and other things.

Every time you buy an item in your state (or almost every time at least) you are charged a tax that goes to the state's revenue. This revenue is used to build things like roads and pay public employees.
