\sf(x)/(100)+(3)/(100)=(8)/(100)

Subtract 3/100 to both sides:

\sf(x)/(100)=(5)/(100)

Cross multiply:

\sf100x=500

Divide 100 to both sides:

\sf~x=5

Or we could just multiply both sides of the equation by 100, to give us:

\sf~x+3=8

Subtract 3 to both sides:

\sf~x=5
