Answer:

The constant of variation = 3.5

Explanation:

Table is a direct variation

x y

4 14

4.3 15.05

5 17.5

If y varies directly with x then the equation is y=kx

where k is the contant of variation

LEts find out k the constant of variation.

LEts plug in x and y value using the table in the equation y=kx

x=4 and y= 14

y=kx

14=k(4)

14=4k

Divide both sides by 4

k= 3.5

The constant of variation = 3.5
