Given the equation of the line

y=3x-5

We can use the x, and y-intercept to plot the graph

(0,-5)and((5)/(3),0)

We can obtain the inverse as follow:

\begin{gathered} \text{make x the subject of the formula} \\ 3x=y+5 \\ x=(y+5)/(3) \end{gathered}

Thus, the inverse of y will be

f^(-1)(x)=(x+5)/(3)

similarly, we can get the x and y-intercept

(-5,0)\text{and(}0,(5)/(3)\text{)}

The plot can be shown as
