Your uncle is planting an 8-foot tall tree. He ties support wires to the tree, 1 foot from the top, and ties them to posts on the ground, 4 feet from the trunk of the tree. How long is each wire to the nearest tenth of a foot?

h = 8 \ ft \\ \\b = 4 \ ft \\ \\a=8-1 = 7 \ ft \\ \\c^2 = a^2+b^2\\ \\c^2 =7^2+4^2 \\ \\c^2=49+16


c^2=65 \\ \\ c=√(65)\\ \\c= 8.06225\approx 8.1 \ ft \\ \\Answer : \ the \ wire \ has \ a \length \ 8.1 ft
