A painting is on sale at 50% off. The sale price is $320. What was the original price?

So to find the original price, you change 50% to 0.5 or 1/2, then divide 320 into 0.5 and you get $640

Well, what you need to find out is x, the original price.
So, x decreased by 50% = 320. *These are our knowns, what we know*
What we need to do is change the 50% into a decimal which would be 0.5 or 1/2.
Then just simply divide 320 into 0.5 and you get ,x, the original price of $640
