If the amount of recycled materials would decrease what would end up increasing is the number of landfills. Since there will be less materials that could be reused and repurposed the materials that would be thrown away will not be recycled. The number of gas-powered cars as well as the number of sugarcane plantations have nothing to do with the amount of recycled materials. And since we are decreasing the amount of recyclables materials the number of trees would end up decreasing since more would have to be cut down in order to create more landfills.

The answer D, if the recycled materials increase the number of landfills decreases. This is because the garbage that should be thrown to the landfill has been recycled. Landfills contain junk and serve to anticipate sullying between the waste and the encompassing condition, particularly groundwater.
