8/10 and 48/60 are equivalent because you can see the 48/60 can divide by 8/10 is 6, you just have to see if the larger fraction can divide the smaller one.

8/10 is equivalent to 48/60 because 48/60 divided by 6 equals 8/10, it is the same amount still.
