The United States Constitution of 1787 represented an economic and ideological victory for the traditional political elite. Assess the validity of this statement for the period 1781 to 1789.

This statement is not very accurate at all, considering that many of the political and economic elite favored not ratifying the Constitution, which removed much of the individual state's power.
