2 √(6) + 3 √(96)

First break down 96 into the smaller factors of 6 and 16

2 √(6) + 3 √(16*6)

Now the square root of 16 comes out even as 4 so you can evaluate that part.

2 √(6) + (3 * 4) √(6)

Multiply 3 and 4 to get 12

2 √(6) + 12 √(6)

And now that the square roots on both parts of the eqations are the same you can add them to get:
14 √(6)
