Given the equation y = -4x + 5, find y when x= 2

Hi!

If x = 2, than we can substitute 2 in for x.

y = -4x + 5

Put 2 in for x

y = -4(2) + 5

Multiply -4 and 2

y = -8 + 5

Add -8 and 5

y = -3
