(3)/(8)+ (4)/(5) \\ \\ (3*5)/(8*5)= (15)/(40) \\ \\ (4*8)/(5*8)= (32)/(40) \\ \\ (15)/(40)+ (32)/(40)= (47)/(40) \\ \\ (47)/(40)=1 (7)/(40) \\ \\ Answer:1 (7)/(40) \\

find the lcm first for 8 and 5 which is 40

closs multiply the 4 given numbers

so,

8x4 +5x3/ 40 (lcm)

32+15/40 = 47/40

47/40 = 1.175

ans = 1.175

hope that helps u out
