You can simplify the second fraction so lets say
9/10 + 4/50 = (45+4)/50= 49/50

9/10 + 8/100

9/10 + 2×4/25×4

Common denominator is 50.

9/10 + 2/25.

5×9/5×10 + 2×2/2×25

45/50 + 4/50

= 49/50
