lets there are x cookies sold
so there are (2x+4) cupcakes
x+2x+4=52
3x=52-4
3x=48
x=16 -cookiesw
2x+4=2*16+4=32+4=36 cupcakes
Answer: 16 cookies and 36 cupcakes were sold
(Check: 16+36=52 total)
