(2)/(3)(y+57)=178\\ \\ (2)/(3) \cdot y+(2)/(3)\cdot 57 =178 \\ \\ (2)/(3) \cdot y+(2)/(\\ot3^1)\cdot \\ot57^(19) =178 \\ \\ (2)/(3) \cdot y+2\cdot 19 =178 \\ \\ (2)/(3) \cdot y +38 =178 \\ \\ (2)/(3) \cdot y=178-38 \\ \\ (2)/(3) \cdot y =140 \ \ /\cdot (3)/(2)\\ \\ (3)/(2) \cdot (2)/(3) \cdot y =140\cdot (3)/(2) \\ \\y=70 \cdot 3 \\ \\ y=210

Multiply both sides by 3 to get rid of the fraction to make your life easier.
2(y+57)=534
Apply the distributive property.
2y+114=534
Subtract 114 from both sides.
2y=420
Divide both sides by 2.
y=210
