Let x= brother
2x-3= Kayla

2x -3= 13
2x-3= 13
2x= 16
x=8
Kayla's brother is 8 yrs. old

Kayla=k \\ Brother=b \\ \\ k=2b-3 \\ k=13 \\ \\ (13)=2b-3 \\ 16=2b \\ 8=b

Her brother is 8 years old.
