A gardener found that he was able to plant 1/4 of a packet of flower seeds in 1/5 of a garden. At this rate, how much of the garden would he cover with the entire packet of seeds?

(1)/(4)\ packet\ of\ seeds\ :\ (1)/(5)\ of\ a\ garden

We want to find how much of the garden is covered with 1 whole packet of seeds.

Mutliply each side by 4 to do this. (We can do this because of the multiplication property of equality.)

1\ packet\ of\ seeds\ :\ \frac{4}5\ of\ a\ garden
