A, Abrasion. An avulsion would be when the flesh is basically torn away, as if someone took a spoon and removed flesh. A laceration would be a large cut, such as a wound inflicted by a knife. Puncture wounds would be when something punctures the skin, i. e., I stepped on a nail, giving me a puncture wound.
