What ideas did republican party support

The Republican Party is widely considered as the more conservative political party, based very much on morals and the family. They largely support free-market capitalism, limited government, strong national defense and oppose regulation and labor unions. Their socially conservative policies usually are in opposition to abortion, stem-cell research and same-gender marriage. Older Americans usually vote for the Republican party and since they are very involved with the church, many people who feel a strong connection to the Church vote for them,
