Colby wants to set square tiles on the top of a wooden box. The top of the box is a rectangle 7 1/2 inches long and 5 1/2 inches wide.

a. How many 1/2 inch tiles would Colby need to cover the top of the wooden box?
b. How many 1/4 inches tiles would Colby need to cover the top the wooden the box?

area of a rectangle is l x w 7.5 x 5 = 37.5 in^2 each tile is 1/2 or ,5 37.5/.5= 75 of the 1/2 in tile the 1/4 in tile would need twice as much therefore 150
