6x - 2y = - 4; y = 3x + 2

Now let's solve
y = 3x + 2 for y
Substitute
(3x + 2) for y in ↓↓↓

6x - 2y = -4: \\ 6x - 2y = -4 \\ 6x - 2(3x +2) = -4 \\ -4 =-4 \\ -4+4=-4+4 \\ =0
