To find out how long each section should be, do 8/9, which is approximately 0.8.
Each section should be
0.8 feet long.

8 feet = 96 inches
96 = 90 + 6
90/9 = 10
6/9 = 2/3
Each piece should be 10 2/3 inches long or 8/9 feet long.
