5 tons= 2,000*5= 10,000
Now compare 10,000 pounds and 5,000 pounds
which is more?
so the answer is 5 tons is greater because 10,000 is greater than 5,000

5 tons. 1 ton is 2,000 pounds. 5 * 2,000 is 10,000. 10,000 pounds is heavier than 5000.
