so try to get rid of the fractions by finding a common factor
common factor of 3 and 2 and 6 is 6 so
x/3 times 2/2=2x/6
x/2 times 3/3=3x/6
so
2x/6+3x/6=5/6
add
5x/6=5/6
multily boths ides by 6
5x=5
divide by 5
x=1

Convert to denominators of 6:
2x/6 + 3x/6 = 5/6
Add the numerators:
5x/6 = 5/6
Cross multiply:
30x = 30
Divide 30 to both sides:
x = 1
