D) Female gametophyte to zygote.
A zygote is a sex cell. Sex cells are half of the chromosomes. That is because in sexual reproduction, it takes half of the chromosomes from male and female and creates a full set of chromosomes.

The female gametophyte to zygote is the answer. Sperm + egg = Zygote. A zygote is the fertilized egg.
