let the ratio vriable be a.
Now ratio = 2:7 = 2a + 7a = 9a
9a = 72
thus, a = 72 / 9 = 8
thus, a = 8.
Now the ratio will be, first share = 2a = 2 x 8 = 16
second share = 7a = 7x 8 = 56.
Thus, 72 will be shared in ratios of 56 and 16
