Rider dribbles the ball down 1/3 of the basketball court on the first day of practice. Each day after that he dribbled 1/3 of the way more than he did day before.

It is given that:

Rider dribbles the ball down 1/3 of the basketball court on the first day of practice.

Also each day after that he dribbled 1/3 of the way more than he did day before.

Let the length of the basketball court be 'x' units.

So, in particular we choose x=1 units.

i.e. in table form we can represent the distance he dribbles as:

Day 1 1/3

Day 2 2/3

Day 3 3/3=1
