( y_(2) - y^(1) )/( x^(2) - x^(1))

(2 - 7)/(4 - 6)

(-5)/(-2)

(5)/(2)

2(1)/(2)

y - y_1 = m(x - x_1)

y - 7 = 2(1)/(2)(x - 6)

y - 7 = 2 (1)/(2)x - 15

y - 7 + 7 = 2(1)/(2)x - 15 + 7

y = 2 (1)/(2)x - 8

slope = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1)
when given the points (x1, y1) and (x2, y2)

so we can get
slope = (7 - 2) / (6 - 4) = 5 / 2

slope = 5/2 , 2 1/2 , or 2.5
