2 \ miles............ (1)/(2)h \\3 \ miles............x \\\\ x= ( 3\ \\ot miles*(1)/(2)h)/(2 \\ot miles) \\\\ x= ( (3)/(2)h)/(2) \\\\ x=(3)/(2)h*(1)/(2) \\\\ \boxed{x=(3)/(4)h} \\\\ x=(3*\\ot60)/(\\ot4) \\\\ x=3*15 \\\\ \boxed{\boxed{x=45 \ minutes}}

so 2 miles per 1/2 hour
therfor 1 mile in 1/4 hour since 1/4 is 1//2 of 1/2

so
1 mile per 1/4 hour
2 mile per 2/4 hour
3 mile per 3/4 hour

basically 2 times 3/2=3 so
1/2 times 3/2=3/4=answer
