2x-9y=-36\\ -9y=-2x-36\\ y=(2)/(9)x+4\\\\ \boxed{m=(2)/(9)}

what I do first (easier for me) is to change it into slope-intercept form
2x-9y=-36
-9y=-2x-36 2x
--------------- = y= ---- +4
-9 9
the slope is whatever is in front of x, in this case 2/9
