Benedict Arnold was a General for the Patriots but when the American Revolution started, he betrayed the Patriots and became a Loyalist.  A loyalist is someone who supports the crown.  He died of swelling.

It was a general in the Continental Army during the War of Independence of the United States. (it is known for betraying the United States)
