Given↷

  • Original Price ⇢ $82
  • Sale price ⇢$65.60

To find ↷

  • % of discount

Answer↷

  • 20%

Solution ↷

we know that,

% of discount = (OP-SP)/OP x 100

% of discount = (82-65.60)/82 x 100

% of discount = 16.4/82 x 100

% of discount = 0.2 x 100

% of discount = 20

hence , the discount percentage is 20

To determine a percentage difference, simply divide the difference of the two numbers by the original. For instance, 82-65.60=16.4 16.4 is 20% of 82, so the discount is 20% (16.4/82)
