There is more rain in the summer and the water is also warmer.

In short,Hurricanes occur when humidity and moisture from the oceans go up into a sort of donut holed vortex. In the summer months is when that moisture and humidity are at its highest because the more warmth there is, the more evaporation /moisture raising into the air.
