In 7.69,which digit has the greatest value?

7, because 7 is in the ones place, 6 is in the tenths place, and 9 is in the hundredths place. 7 is also the only number that wouldn't be a decimal is the numbers were split apart. 7 = 7 || 6 = 0.6 || 9 = 0.09 || I hope this was helpful :3

The whole number 7 has the greatest value for several reasons 1). being that seven is in the place of the front of the decimal which gives it the value of a whole number 2). because anything behind the decimal is 10 times SMALLER than the number before it for example the .69  has the absolute value of |6| being |.6| meaning 6 tenths and the 9 having the absolute value of |9| |.09| meaning 9 hundredths and obvious;y a decimal is smaller than a whole number 3). the decimal point represents a 10th part therefore anything behind the decimal point is a fraction of the original whole,there are many more reasons but here's the basics!
