Why does the daylight increase when it get closer to summer

And also Earth's axis is tilted so it causes more sunlight. All I know

Daylight increases and decreases base upon how the earth spins on its axis right. So basically during a certain time of year (summer) the sun is shining based upon how the earth spins on its axis giving more daylight.
