M is the slope
b is the y intercept
y is the dependent variable
x is the in depending variable

so y=y
m=slope or rise/run means rise divided by run or (how far up)/(how far to the right)

x=x
b=where the line passes throught the y line, aka the y intercept so

if you had the equaiton y=2x+3
the slope=2/1 or for every 2 units you go up, you go 1 to the right
3, the line passes thorought the y line at +3
