x = 2y + 7
(x + y) - 9 = 13

((2y + 7) + y) - 9 = 13
3y + 7 - 9 = 13
3y = 13 + 9 - 7
3y = 15
y = 15 / 3
y = 5

x = 2y + 7
x = 2*5 + 7
x = 10 + 7
x = 17
