if your in algebra 1 then i'm pretty sure you subtract the 2x and that cancels and subract the 2x with the 9 and you have -3y= -2x+9 so you divide -3 to the -3y, the -2x and positive 9 and your answer will be y=2/3x-3

2x - 3y = 9 ⇒ -10x + 15y = -45
-5x - 3y = 30 ⇒ -10x - 6y = 60
9y = 15
9 9
y = 1 2/3
2x - 3(1 2/3) = 9
2x - 5 = 9
+5 +5
2x = 4
2 2
x = 2
(x, y) = (2, 1 2/3)
