The constant of proportionality can be obtained by:


k=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

Using the first two rows of the table we have:


\begin{gathered} k=(0.75-2.25)/(-1-(-3)) \\ =(-1.5)/(2) \\ =-0.75 \end{gathered}
