m = ( y_(2) - y_(1))/( x_(2) - x_(1))

m = (0 - 4)/(1 - (-6))

m = (0 - 4)/(1 + 6)

m = (-4)/(7)

(-6,4) \\ x_1=-6 \\ y_1=4 \\ \\ (1,0) \\ x_2=1 \\ y_2=0 \\ \\ \hbox{the slope}=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)=(0-4)/(1-(-6))=(-4)/(1+6)=-(4)/(7)

The slope is -4/7.
