Because area's formula is length times width, 10 times 6 =60 giving you the answer.

Area of a hexagon with the side length 10...

Well this hexagon would be made up of 12 right angled triangles each with an area of:

\frac { 25 }{ 2 } \sqrt { 3 } { units }^( 2 )

So the area of this hexagon would be:

A=12\cdot \frac { 25 }{ 2 } \sqrt { 3 } { units }^( 2 )\\ \\ =6\cdot 25\sqrt { 3 } { units }^( 2 )\\ \\ =150\sqrt { 3 } { units }^( 2 )
