Yes it does in this case. X⁴ can = 20. Take the 4th root of 20 or find what to the fourth power is equal to 20
\sqrt[4]{20} = x X is equal to 2.1147. And you can re-check. What is 2.1147⁴? It's 20! So thus x= 2.1147

{ x }^( 4 )=20\\ \\ x=\pm \sqrt [ 4 ]{ 20 }

Simpler explanation:

{ x }^( 4 )=20\\ \\ x=\pm { 20 }^{ \frac { 1 }{ 4 } }
