How do you know the quotient of 427/4 is greater than 100 before you actually divide

i knew that because 400 already pass 100 and 4 into 400 is 100 times and the remainder 27 will just make it more

Because 400 divide by 4 equals 100 so if 427 is divide by 4 then it should be greater
