Convert the mixed number 1 2/3 into an improper fraction first by multiplying the denominator by the whole number part and add the numerator to get the new numerator. Place the new numerator over the old denominator.

5 * 5/6 * 3

Multiply 5 by 5 to get 25.

25/6 * 3

Multiply 6 by 3 to get 18.

25/18

1 7/18

Answer: Option 'C' is correct.

Explanation:

Since we have given that

(5)/(6)* 1(2)/(3)\\\\=(5)/(6)* (5)/(3)\\\\=(5* 5)/(6* 3)\\\\=(25)/(18)

But she gets
(7)/(3) as an answer.

As we know that

(5)/(6) of a number cannot be greater than the number.

Because the value of
(5)/(6) is 0.84 which is less than 1.

So,
(5)/(6) of a number cannot be greater than the number

and

(7)/(3)=2.34\\\\but\\\\(25)/(18)=1.38

1.38<2.34 i.e.

(25)/(18)<(7)/(3)

So, Option 'C' is correct.
