Formula: T= O/A
T is Tangent.
O is opposite side.
A is adjacent.
In this problem, T is 24 degree. O is 5 feet.
you are finding A.
if you substitute,
Tan(24) = 5/A
A x Tan(24)=5
A=5/Tan(24)
put 5/Tan(24) in the calculator.
you will get
A=11.23 feet
