What evidence in support of plate tectonics is provided by studies of the ocean floor?

The mid ocean ridge which is in the middle of most oceans has lava coming out which means that there must be moving plates beneath.

When a divergent plate occurs, the land pulls apart from itself, and it creates a space that allows magma to flow through, and when that magma flows out, it's metal point in the direction of the magnetic atmosphere and when it hardens its locked in place.
