(1-1/2)=1/2
(1/2)-(1/3)=1/6
This leaves Jeff with 1/6 of the original pizza.

Subtract 1/2 - 1/3
Convert into denominators of 6:
3/6 - 2/6 = (3-2)/6 = 1/6
So he will have 1/6 of pizza left for lunch.
