Jennifer cut a board 2 m long into two pieces. one piece is 24 m shorter than the other. find the length of each piece.. Piz help me!!!!!!!!!!!

If its 24cm then this is the answer:
If its 24cm then the answer is:

2 m = 200 cm cut into 2 pieces of length x and y
x + y = 200
but 1 piece is 24 cm shorter than the other

i.e. x = y -24 substitute this into the above equation you get

y - 24 + y = 200
2y = 224
y = 112
x = y - 24
x = 112 - 24
x = 88

So 2 pieces are 88 cm and 112 cm in length

To check its correct 112 + 88 = 200 cm = 2m
And 112 - 88 = 24 cm
