First equation: 2x+5=3
Second equation: 2x+5=-3
Solution for first equation:
2x+5=3
subtract 5
2x=-2
divide by 2
x=-1
Solution for second equation:
2x+5=-3
subtract 5
2x=-8
divide by 2
x=-4
