The nucleus is the small, dense center of an atom. It contains protons and neutrons, which are more massive yet more compacted than the orbiting electrons.

Center of an atom is it's nucleus. It's much smaller than the whole of the atom itself. The nucleus of an atom is made of protons and neutrons.
